Janell L. Carroll

Dr. Janell Carroll is on the faculty of the psychology department at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut. She is a sexologist, author, and researcher. Dr. Carroll's research has been published in a variety of national and international journals and she has presented her research at meetings and symposiums around the world. Her research interests include human sexuality, women's issues, gender, child development, & sex education. Dr. Carroll has been exploring cross-cultural sexuality and has traveled to a variety of countries to learn more about how culture affects sexual behavior, attitudes, and practices.

Dr. Carroll has authored several books, including a highly acclaimed college-level sexuality textbook entitled Sexuality Now: Embracing Diversity and a popular book for young women entitled The Day Aunt Flo Comes To Visit: An Honest Conversation About Getting Your Period.
