James M. Kauffman

James M. Kauffman is Professor Emeritus of Education at the University of Virginia. He started his UVA career in 1970, retiring in 2003. He earned his Ed.D. in special education at the University of Kansas 1969. He is author or coauthor, editor or coeditor of many books in special education. His first non-special education book is the 2020 publication of CYBER ABUSE: The Dr. Laura Letter, which recounts his experiences with misattribution of authorship of an open letter appearing on social media at about the turn of the century. He is also editor of ON EDUCATIONAL INCLUSION:Meanings, History, and International Perspectives, also published in 2020. It is the first volume in an international series.
