Helge Torvund

I was born in Hå, Norway in 1951, and lives with my wife near the South-West coast of Norway. I have pub­lished over two dozen collections of poetry, along with children's books, essays, and translations. In 2018 I was awarded the Dobloug Prize from the Swedish Academy. My children's book Vivaldi (NYRB, 2019) was included in Flavorwire's 20 Most Beautiful Children's Books of All Time. I have translated Robert Bly and Micheal O'Siadhail and in 2022 I published a book in Norwegian called "To my mother" where I look back at my childhood and the lives housewives lived in the fifties.
