Antonio Oliva (Ariano Irpino, 1985) is an Italian essayist. In 2014, he published "Le Streghe di Benevento. La leggenda della 'superstitiosa Noce'" (Caravaggio), a work examining artistic and literary references to the "janara" tradition and witchcraft in southern Italy. He continued this line of research in 2023 with "Krampus e altre creature. Leggende e tradizioni natalizie", also published by Caravaggio, which explores the darker side of Christmas characters. He has also published "Frantumi" (Irideventi, 2010, poetry) and "Chic shock. Scene da un nuovo sogno" (Eretica, 2017, fiction), and has contributed to various national and international publications since 2009. He writes for the Rome-based magazine "Cultura e dintorni" and teaches Literature at the secondary school level. He has never used ChatGPT - not even once, even when compelled to do so. His latest book is "Occulto. Racconti esoterici, leggende e storie vere" (Tempesta Editore, September 30, 2026, Rome).
