Chuck Freadhoff

Chuck Freadhoff has spent more than forty-five years writing and telling stories. He started his career as a journalist and covered homicides, assassination attempts, as well as historic events such as the return of the American hostages from Iran. Once he spent ten hours in an operating room witnessing brain surgery. Along the way, he picked up a sharp eye for detail and keen understanding of how to tell a story – write tight, stay out of your own way, and don’t bury the lead.

From wandering the wooded hillsides in Germany to visiting the L.A. County Jail to cruising Tijuana’s red light district at night, Chuck picks out the details that make a story come alive.

He has published five thrillers starting with Codename Cipher, followed by Blue Rain and A Permanent Twilight, both of which landed on the Los Angeles Times bestseller list. He has self-published two thrillers, City of Serpents and A Plague of Iron.

Free Booze Tonight, Chuck’s first humorous thriller, was written to be laugh-out-loud funny while keeping readers turning the pages.

He recently retired after more than twenty years as the director of media relations for a major investment management firm headquartered in Los Angeles. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Linda, and their Labrador retriever, Goldie.
