Michael Borshuk is originally from Windsor, Ontario, and teaches in the Department of English at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He is the author of Swinging the Vernacular: Jazz and African American Modernist Literature (Routledge) and the editor of Jazz and American Culture (Cambridge University Press). He has published widely on African American literature, American modernism, and music, and from 1999 to 2009 wrote on jazz regularly for Coda magazine. His website is http://michaelborshuk.com.
