Kurt Mills

Kurt Mills is Senior Lecturer in International Human Rights at the University of Glasgow and the Convenor of the Glasgow Human Rights Network, and currently serves as Vice President of the International Studies Association. He previously taught at the American University on Cairo, Mount Holyoke College, James Madison University, and Gettysburg College, and served as Assistant Director of the Five College Program in Peace and World Security Studies at Hampshire College. He has held visiting positions at the Asia-Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect at the University of Queensland, School of Advanced Study at the University of London, Institute of Human Rights at Addis Ababa University, and the Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University. He received his BA from Hampshire College, and his MA and PhD from the University of Notre Dame. His work focuses on human rights, humanitarianism, international criminal justice, and humanitarian intervention/responsibility to protect, in particular in sub-Saharan Africa.
