Lisa Gordon-Davis

Lisa Gordon-Davis is a specialist in tourism, hospitality, and vocational education with over 30 years of experience designing and delivering training and curriculum development projects across Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

She is the author of the Hospitality Operations Series — practical reference guides for managers, educators, and trainers working in professional hospitality environments worldwide, drawing on real case studies from operations across the US, UK, Australia, Canada, South Africa, and beyond.

But the kitchen Lisa cares most about is the one at home.

After decades of training professional kitchens to the highest food safety standards, she turned that same expertise toward the place where most people actually cook — and where the risks are just as real. Kitchen Hygiene and Safety in the Home is written for parents, caregivers, and anyone running a household kitchen, translating professional food safety knowledge into practical guidance that protects the people you love most.

Lisa is also a mother, and some of her most rewarding work has happened at the dinner table, on long road trips, and around campfires with her daughters. The Campfire Conversations series grew out of years of collecting questions — the kind that spark real conversation, reveal how someone thinks, and turn an ordinary drive or evening into something memorable. What started as handmade cards sold at a Christmas market became a published series designed to bring families and friends together through the simple power of a good question.

She is based in South Africa with her husband and family, and continues to write, train, and support projects that create opportunities through education, tourism, and entrepreneurship.
