He has written several American Council on Education classics: "On Q: Causing Quality in Higher Education" (1993) and "Once Upon a Campus: Lessons for Improving Quality and Productivity in Higher Education" (1995). His more recent "Momentum: Virtuous Cycle of Change in Colleges and University" (2016) has been a popular Rowman & Littlefield book.

Seymour began his Higher Education Fieldbook Series in 2016. These workbook format manuscripts are driven by primary research and detailed illustrations. The first volume, "Future College Fieldbook," examines the mission, vision and values in 140 colleges and universities. The next book released in 2018 is "Institutional Effectiveness" Fieldbook. It offers a new organization design framework that focuses on the need for coherence. The "Strategic Planning in Uncertain Times Fieldbook" (2023) is a comprehensive review of more than 250 strategic plans at higher education institutions. The focus is on 17 critical mistakes and describes a series of promising practices.

The Higher Education Fieldbook Series is “relentlessly pragmatic.”

Finally, he found his passion project by asking his mother-in-law a simple question: “Would you talk to me about growing up in Czechoslovakia before WWII?” Three years later after many interviews and research initiatives about the Holocaust and Auschwitz, the result is the captivating memoirs/diaries of Manci and Ruthie Grunberger within a historical framework in the pages of "From Auschwitz with Love: The Inspiring Memoir of Two Sisters’ Survival, Devotion and Triumph" (2022). The book’s website—www.fromauschwitzwithlove.com--has many additional photographs, videos and linkages to historical topics.

"From Auschwitz with Love" has received accolades from Feathered Quill Book Awards and Readers’ Favorite Book Awards and was chosen from Kirkus Reviews to be one of its top 100 “Best Indie Books of 2022.” It has been translated into Portuguese and German.

Daniel Seymour lives in Palm Springs, California, with his wife, Rhonda, and their two rescue dogs, Blanche and Bridgette.
