J. D. Carpenter

Born in Toronto, Canada, in 1948; graduate of York University (Hon. B.A., 1971) and Queen's University (B.Ed., 1972); worked as a journalist for Daily Racing Form before beginning 29-year career as a teacher of English Literature; wrote four books of poetry before embarking on the Campbell Young series of murder mysteries.
