Robert C. Harding is Professor of Political Science and Director of International Studies at Valdosta State University in Georgia. He holds a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Louisville and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Miami.
While at Miami, he gained an interest in Panamanian politics from a professor, Ambler Moss, who had been the former U.S. ambassador to Panama. This interest led to his dissertation, Military Foundations of Panamanian Politics, which became his first book. Based on the success of this first book, Harding was invited to write a general political and economic history of Panama, published by Greenwood/ABC-CLIO.
Harding's newest book is Space Policy in Developing Countries: Security and Development on the Final Frontier, which melds his strong avocation in astronomy with the international relations of space programs in developing countries. He has been an invited speaker at the European Space Policy Institute and a guest editor and contributor to the journal Space Policy.
