Richard C. J. Somerville: Climate Scientist, Professor, Researcher, Author, Speaker

I am a climate scientist and a specialist in communicating clearly to the public what scientists have learned about climate change.

My interests include all aspects of climate, including climate science outreach and the interface between science and public policy. I comment often on environmental issues for the media.

Since 1979, I have been a professor at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego. At present, I am formally retired but still active.
