Barbara Gregorich

Barbara Gregorich has always been partial to mules, those intelligent, reliable, hard-working, and trustworthy animals. And although she has written many, many books, she never thought she’d write one about a mule. Yet a mule is the subject of her forthcoming book, "Ballad of the Horse and Mule: Some Will Make It Through" (publication date May 12, 2026). This crossover book, meant for ages 10-100, tells the exciting story of a long-distance endurance horse race.

"Exit Velocity," Barbara’s recent novel, features a working-class hero fighting for her life and a parrot on a mission from another planet. "Exit Velocity" was a Finalist for the 2025 Midland Authors Adult Fiction Award and also for the Next Generation Indie Award for Best Social Justice Book.

For her next book, Barbara is considering a collection of poetry . . . or a book on mountain passes . . . or perhaps an Arctic adventure novel. Maybe even a mystery novel.
