Herbert W. Stanford III, PE is a 1966 graduate of North Carolina State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He is a retired Professional Engineer and retired as President of Stanford White, Inc., a large mechanical and electrical engineering consulting firm in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1998, but remains of counsel to the firm he founded in 1977.
Currently, Mr. Stanford engages in investigative and forensic engineering, teaching, research, and writing within a broad range of topics relative to heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, equipment, and components. His expertise covers several areas of construction, indoor environment, design, and management.
He is a Life Member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
