Deela Khan

Deela Khan was born and raised in Cape Town. She won the Benjamin Moloise scholarship to do Creative Writing at New York University in 1994. She is a poet, writer and gatherer of cultural tales and histories. Her writing career spans from the mid-‘70s to present day. Her poems, articles and reviews have appeared on the web, in journals and anthologies. At NYU she produced her NYC Poems. Work also appeared in De Shazer’s, A Poetics of Resistance in 1994. Her chapbook, So Hard to Heal in a Hard Age, was published by White Fields Press in 1994 and Engaging the Shades of Robben Island, in Cape Town by Realities in 2002.
