Predrag Cicovacki

Predrag Cicovacki was born in 1960 in Belgrade, Serbia. After receiving a B.A. in philosophy at the University of Belgrade, he came to the United States in 1986 to study Kant with Lewis White Beck, at the University of Rochester. Since 1991, he has taught philosophy at the College of the Holy Cross (in Worcester, Massachusetts), where he also served as Director of Peace and Conflict Studies. He was a former Senior Fulbright-Nehru Fellow at the Malaviya Centre for Peace Research, at Banares Hindu University, in Varanasi, India.

Cicovacki is the author of several books, including Dostoevsky and the Affirmation of Life, The Analysis of Wonder: An Introduction to the Philosophy of Nicolai Hartmann, Gandhi's Footprints, The Barefoot in Banares: A Spiritual Pilgrimage, The Luminosity of Love, and God, Man, and Tolstoy (forthcoming). He is the editor of Dostoevsky's "Brothers Karamazov": Art, Creativity and Spirituality, The Ethics of Nonviolence, Nonviolence as a Way of Life: History, Theory, Practice, Tolstoy and Spirituality, The Human Soul (forthcoming).
