Larry E. Holmes

Larry E. Holmes is Professor Emeritus of History at the University of South Alabama. He is the author of Kremlin and the Schoolhouse: Reforming Education in Soviet Russia, 1917 1931, Stalin's School: Moscow's Model School No. 25, 1931 1937, and Stalin’s World War II Evacuations: Triumph and Troubles in Kirov. Indiana University Press will soon publish his latest book, Revising the Revolution: The Unmaking of Russia's Official History of 1917. Holmes is now working on a book about the politics of professional football in the provinces of the USSR during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Holmes loves sports, baseball above all. He still wants to be a professional baseball player when he grows up.
