Wayne Anthony

Wayne Anthony is considered a global pioneer of large scale dance parties in the UK. Under the banner of Genesis'88, Wayne organised and promoted over forty events catering for thousands of people. These events were the first of their kind in Europe as they were staged in venues across the country. Locations such as large storage warehouses, film studios and country fields were commandeered to cater for the masses. Wayne helped to establish the pirate radio networks as the key source of information for dance parties during the period. He helped lobby government to grant full licences to event promoters and nightclub owners to extend opening hours until 8am (where requested) and licence any space for large scale dance parties. This was a first in British history and changed the direction of the entire country.

One of Britain's top ranking police officers later personally congratulated Wayne for staging highly professional events and showing the way for others to follow. The police officer also publicly stated he wished Wayne and his contemporaries were his lieutenants and stated they had mastered the art of moving thousands of people from one area to another within hours. Confessing that the police or army couldn't achieve that today (paraphrasing from tv interview 2010)

Wayne Anthony continued to create and produce innovative projects within a variety of industries. When he dabbled in the music industry mid-nineties, he co-founded the Havin’it brand and released a series of CD compilation albums mixed by top DJs. The brand was hugely successful in the UK and Ibiza. Wayne did two seasons at one of the islands biggest nightclubs which catered for 4,500 people every Sunday night of the season. It was then he developed a interest in internet technology. The first website he ever commissioned went live in 1995. He then moved to Australia where he joined with top Australian party promoters to release dedicated CD compilations.

When back in the UK he started creating E-Groups where members could share information, images, thoughts and feelings on any given topic. The Acid House E-Group was the first of its kind and still live today. By 1999 Wayne had written two biographical books published by Virgin Books. He later said that writing the books was a tip-of-the-hat and wave goodbye to the lifestyle he’d become all too familiar with.

The internet bubble had thrown up many opportunities for Wayne’s knowledge base, he launched a global clubbing network for promoters, events, club nights and DJs in 1999. Live streaming was new and Wayne worked on different live streaming projects with different DJs playing live on the internet. He also launched a service that gave registered users free internet access, a service only corporations were offering at the time.

Wayne spent the following decades travelling the world working on his own innovative start up projects whilst embracing technology to deliver unique content to targeted communities. He spent the last ten years running a hugely popular street art graffiti network called London Street-Art Design Magazine. A position that has seen him traversing the globe hanging out with some of the best artists on the planet. Currently working on a variety of interesting and first-ever projects such as a dedicated TV channel launching this summer. There’s already interest in a TV series and feature film for Class of 88 so your bound to hear from Wayne one way or another.
