Paul Matthew St. Pierre

In September 2018 I retired as a Professor of English at Simon Fraser University, after a 40-year teaching career, during which I published twelve scholarly books and seventy-five journal articles, including four books on film, most recently Cinematography of Carl Theodor Dreyer (2019). I live off-grid and sustainably on Lasqueti Island, British Columbia, on the beach at Maple Bay, where I write novels and poems. I walk 10 km a day with my Hovawarts, Augustine, 8, and Barrington, 7.

I am author of The Letter Box: Selected Poems (London: Austin Macauley, 2025) and the novel Caenis and Caeneus (London: Austin Macauley, 2026).
