Neil A. Hamilton

Neil Alexander Hamilton was born in New York City. He has a Ph.D.

in American history and more than 25 years of experience teaching at the college level. He also has written several magazine articles and more than a dozen books. The history books he has written, for a variety of publishers, range from An Atlas of the Baby Boomer Generation to Presidents.

His fondness for classic rock music and for Outlaw country, from the 1970s and from today, led him to write his non-fictional saga, Outlaws Still at Large! In it, he discusses the connection between the earlier music--the era of Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and David Allan Coe--and the music of today and presents several artist profiles, among them Blackberry Smoke, Whitey Morgan, Wayne Mills, Lydia Loveless and Jackson Taylor. A music CD complements the book. Events surrounding Outlaws Still At Large! led him, in turn, to write his most recent work, a fictional account, The Fire Inside: Music for the Soul, Murder for the Demon.
