Melodie M. Davis

Biography

Melodie M. Davis grew up on a farm near Goshen, Indiana. She attended a Mennonite high school for three years and moved with her family to north Florida. She spent one year in Mennonite Voluntary Service near Hazard, Kentucky and a year in Barcelona, Spain.

She graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in 1975 majoring in English, and began working at Mennonite Broadcasts, Inc., now MennoMedia in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She has written and produced media for radio, TV, video, internet, print, and won awards from American Women in Radio and Television, Catholic Communicators, National Federation of Press Women and Virginia Press Women Communicator of Achievement.

Davis has written ten non-fiction books on family living and was challenged by her oldest daughter to “write what people like to read: Fiction!” This book launched in Nov. 2025 with the title “A Place in the Fold.”

She and her husband, Stuart, have three daughters, five grandsons, and two granddaughters.
