Gerald S. Greenberg

I am Gerry Greenberg, Professor Emeritus, University Libraries, Ohio State University and author of three reference books, one novel, and numerous journal articles. I am also a columnist (Driving off the Bridge) for the e-zine Naked Sunfish. Born and raised in New York City, I am a longtime resident of Columbus, Ohio.

A longtime runner, I am now more of a biker. I ride toward country roads, green spaces and open skies, and away from automobiles, trucks, and barking dogs. I am a film lover, and a great fan of those who are confident enough to poke fun at themselves to help us laugh at life's absurdities. I refer, in particular, to Laurel & Hardy, the Marx Brothers, and the Honeymooners.

My favorite authors include: Tolstoy, Dostoyesvsky, Kafka, Hesse, Mann, I.J. and Isaac Bashevis Singer, Saul Bellow, Paul Auster, and Russell Banks.Favorite quote: "Intelligence is like four wheel drive. It just helps get you stuck in more remote locations." (Garrison Keillor)
