Wendy Sarkissian

Wendy Sarkissian PhD is an environmental ethicist, community planner, author, and activist with fifty years of professional experience and more than forty awards. She is a Life Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia and co-author of the landmark Housing as if People Mattered (University of California Press, reissued ebook 2023) and Creative Community Planning (Earthscan/Routledge, 2010). A pioneer of climate grief work in Australia and Canada, she is the creator of the Twilight River Trilogy — Creeksong, Hold Fast, and Opening to Climate Grief: the first integrated series of memoir, reflection, and workbook addressing personal and climate grief simultaneously. She lives in Vancouver, Canada.
