Claire Raymond

Claire Raymond teaches for the program in Art History, and the department of Sociology, at the University of Virginia. Her books, Francesca Woodman and the Kantian Sublime, Witnessing Sadism in Texts of the American South, and the Posthumous Voice in Women's Writing from Mary Shelley to Sylvia Plath, explore topics related to gender, photography, and aesthetic theory. As Claire Millikin she is the author of three poetry books: Motels Where We Lived (Unicorn Press), After Houses: Poetry for the Homeless (2Leaf Press), and Museum of Snow (Grayson books), as well as the chapbook of poems The Gleaners (Tiger's Eye Press).
