Thomas Polger is Professor and Head of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Cincinnati, where he has taught since 2000. His work spans the intersection of philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, and metaphysics. He teaches courses in these areas as well as philosophical methodology, philosophy and technology, and philosophy and Harry Potter.
Polger is particularly focused understanding the sciences of the mind and the things they study, especially the relationships between explanations and entities from different sciences, e.g., psychology and neuroscience. This is a special case of the general question: Why is there anything buy physics? And, relatedly, how is it possible to have philosophical knowledge of the world?
He lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife, triplets, and dog.
