Katherine Teck (a former studio musician for ballet, modern, and creative children’s dance) holds a master’s degree in composition and a certificate in arts management. She has worked in the practical business side of promoting contemporary concert music and presenting public programs and performances that included dance. The author also worked on a special archival project at the New York Public Library for Performing Arts and has taught college courses in music for dance students in New York City. Her four books on musical collaboration for theatrical dance are based on personal interviews with outstanding living artists, and on independent research.
