Gerald Stone

Gerald C. Stone is a native of Shreveport, LA who received journalism degrees from LSU and worked for the Associated Press, newspapers, magazines, and was a university public relations director. He earned a Ph.D. from Syracuse University and became a journalism professor, department chair, dean and graduate director. Stone founded "Newspaper Research Journal" and was a prolific scholar throughout his career. His previous books include: "Examining Newspapers," "Communication Theory and Research Applications," "Public Relations Research," "Newswriting" and "Clarifying Communication Theories." He taught at LSU-Alexandria, University of Louisiana at Monroe, California State University-Long Beach, the University of Memphis, Ohio University and Southern Illinois University. He currently is an emeritus professor living in Boynton Beach, FL.
