Marjorie Hansen Shaevitz

Marjorie Hansen Shaevitz, MA, MFT is the Founder/Director of adMISSION POSSIBLE®, the College Selection and Admissions Program and the website, www.admissionpossible.com. She is an award-winning author, speaker and professional counselor who has successfully helped thousands of students select and get admitted to colleges.

Marjorie has served as a contributing blogger on college admission issues for Huffington Post and a selected columnist for Unigo.com

Ms. Hansen Shaevitz is active nationally and in California on behalf of teens and is a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling and the Independent Educational Consultants Association. She was a member of the Stanford University’s Institute for Women & Gender Board of Directors and also its National Parents Board. She spent twelve years as a trustee for a San Diego school. Marjorie is a past Board member of Natural HIgh, a drug abuse prevention organization aimed at helping students find their “natural high” and reject drugs and alcohol.

She has worked for the Dean of Students Office at Stanford University, directed the Re-entry Program at the University of California, San Diego, and was the Orientation Officer at the East West Center, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Stanford University honored Ms. Hansen Shaevitz with the Outstanding Achievement Award for her work on behalf of the university. She has also received the California State Senate's Woman of the Year award.
