Hi, I'm Alexandra George a writer and photographer based in New York with a lifelong love of wild places. I began my writing career exploring political, economic and social change in Russia, Kazakhstan and India. But over time my path shifted – towards nature, especially the wild and breathtaking landscapes of southern Africa.
My latest book, Nine Days in Eden, is a personal journey into Botswana's Okavango Delta. It brings together photography, storytelling and conservation – featuring intimate once-in-a-lifetime encounters with lions, elephants, leopards, hyenas and painted dogs. Two of the photo tales are dedicated to the endangered African wild dog, and part of the book's proceeds support the Botswana Predator Conservation Trust Wild Dog Project, which works to protect this extraordinary species.
After a recent safari through the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Nxai Pan National Park and back to the Okavango, I'm now working on a second edition of Nine Days with new photos and stories from these unforgettable places.
