Richard Rogers

Richard Rogers is Professor of New Media & Digital Culture at the University of Amsterdam. He also is Director of the Digital Methods Initiative, devoted to methods for the study of online data, with some 60 research tools online at digitalmethods.net. His book Information Politics on the Web (MIT Press, 2004) was awarded the 2005 best book of the year by the American Society for Information Science & Technology, and his book Digital Methods (MIT Press, 2013) won the Outstanding Book of the Year award by the International Communication Association (ICA). He is also author of Issue Mapping for an Ageing Europe (Amsterdam University Press, 2015), together with Natalia Sanchez and Aleksandra Kil. Most recently, he is author of Doing Digital Methods (SAGE, 2019). Rogers has been fellow at the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania, visiting scholar in Comparative Media Studies, MIT, and visiting professor at the University of Vienna and the University of Mannheim.
