E. Edward Reitman, Ph.D.

E. Edward Reitman, or "Dr. Ed, as he is affectionately referred to by many of his patients, has been a practicing clinical psychologist for over fifty years. He has not only maintained a large, successful private practice, but is well known in Houston, Texas (the fourth largest city in the U.S.) as a media personality. He is frequently asked by the major network television stations to comment on the psychological implications and effects of current news events, both on the community and on individuals alike. He is often sought out as a speaker for religious groups, state conventions and professional conferences, such as the Texas State Congress of Family Attorneys.

Dr. Ed has appeared on radio stations across the country and was interviewed nationally by Larry King. That interview was later replayed on the Best of Larry King series. For two years, he had his own three hour long radio talk show, on Houstons KPRH, four nights a week, fielding calls from listeners all over Texas and Mexico.

For eight years, Dr. Ed was the "resident psychologist" on an hour long, daily morning television show on Houston's NBC affiliate station. He was also a weekly guest on an afternoon womens' show on Houston's Fox affiliate station.

Dr. Ed has written three books: "Games Lovers Play", "Hungry for Love", and the latest, "You're Okay, but You Don't Know It". All three are currently available on amazon.com. He is also the author of numerous articles published in professional journals, national and local magazines and several newspapers in the Houston area.

Dr. Ed's professional achievements have been recognized in Houston, the state of Texas, and the United States. He is particularly proud of having been voted "The Best Shrink in Houston, Texas" in a survey of the readers of the former Houston Post newspaper.

These honors and acknowledgments have, however, not gone to his head. He is forever mindful of his less than stellar early academic achievements, due to what he describes as being a "classic attention deficit disorder individual." Because of that, he experienced difficulties in elementary and middle school and withdrew from high school after the first month of his freshman year. Years later, after spending time in Alaska and serving in the U.S. Air Force, he passed a G.E.D. high school equivalency test and received his high school diploma from the Territory of Alaska. He then went on to receive both an MBA and a PHD. Dr. Ed states that, more often than anyone might imagine, he is amazed at his own achievements. He feels that there are many other individuals in the world with equal, if not more, intellectual ability, creativity and talent than himself who, unfortunately, have yet to discover their own sense of worthiness.
