Armine Kotin Mortimer

After a long career writing and teaching about French literature, Armine Kotin Mortimer is now translating novels and non-fiction from French to English. She is the recipient of the Palmes académiques from the French government in recognition of her contributions to French culture in the United States. Her most recent book is For Love or for Money: Balzac's Rhetorical Realism (The Ohio State University Press), about Balzac's La Comédie humaine, and she is the translator of Mysterious Mozart (University of Illinois Press) and Casanova the Irresistible (Illinois), both by Philippe Sollers. Nine excerpts from her translations of other books by Sollers have appeared in literary magazines.
