Jon Thompson

Jon Thompson received a B.A. and an M.A. from University College, Dublin and a Ph.D from LSU. He has published poems and essays widely in journals such as American Literary Review, Black Box Manifold, Carolina Quarterly, Colorado Review, Conjunctions, Interim, The Iowa Review, Jacket 2, The Massachusetts Review, and elsewhere. His collections of poems are Notebooks of Last Things (Shearsman Books, 2019), Strange Country (Shearsman Books, 2016), Landscape with Light (Shearsman Books, 2014) and Pictures of the Floating World (Parlor Press, 2007). He has also published a collection of lyrical essays, After Paradise: Essays on the Fate of American Writing (Shearsman Books, 2014). He edits Free Verse Editions and Illuminations: A Series on American Poetics, both published by Parlor Press.
