Deborah Vlock

Hi, Readers!

Welcome to my Author Page! I'm a life-long writer, one-time academic, and for many years now, a mental-health parent. I have pretty much seen it all, and I'm happy to say that I and my family are still standing--mostly on two feet (each). And we're fine. Really. At last.

I've learned to laugh and shrug when, say, the family dog and the family hubs get diagnosed with prostate cancer two days apart (because...OF COURSE THEY DO!). But I will confess to crying a little when I see a lonely toaster tossed on the side of the road in February, in a patch of snow that looks like charred ice, and my dog pees on it.

What can I say?

But, seriously. Parenting a child with a devastating mental health disorder is the hardest, saddest, most challenging (yet loving) job a parent will ever do. In PARENTING CHILDREN WITH MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES: A GUIDE TO LIFE WITH COMPLEX KIDS, I've tried my best to help you get through it in one piece, while reminding you that you are not alone.

If you read it and have an opinion to share, please leave a review...I'd love to know if it helps. I'd also love to hear your own stories. More of my own stories can be accessed via my website, www.deborahvlock.com, which has links to my published essays and other works.

Thanks for dropping by!
