M. Kay Flavell

Born in Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand in 1943, I grew up as a farm girl on the windy hills above the south Pacific town of Dunedin. Studied English, German and Anthropology at the University of Otago, sailed away in 1964. Studied and taught at University College London and universities in Saarbrücken, Liverpool, Melbourne and Davis, California until 2001. Launched a Pacific Bridges Project in 1990, and New Pacific Studio as a non-profit artist residency and community outreach program in 2000. Post-university publishing under the name of Kay Flavell.

Most recent publication is a USA reprint of my poetry volume Moon over the Pacific. A poet's travel diary.ISBN 9798218341923.
