Sheila M. Brown-Walker

Sheila M. Brown-Walker, "Marnie" to her friends and family, is an independent business consultant providing organizations improved work performance and profitability through strategic human resources planning. As a former Vice President of Human Resources, she aligns human resources strategically to business objectives through legal compliance, policy and procedure development, staffing analysis and planning, and compensation and benefit plan development and implementation. Ms. Brown-Walker's professional experience includes start-up pharmaceutical enterprises and established Fortune 100 companies. Her résumé includes BMW's California design studio, Designworks USA, Harman International and Kendle International.

Ms. Brown-Walker holds an MBA with a concentration on human resources and a BA in Sociology. She is an adjunct professor at California State University, Northridge where she teaches business, employment law and organization strategy and behavior. Her published case studies have won distinguished writing awards and are currently used in business law classes at universities throughout the United States; additionally, she co-authored a business law textbook, Legal Liabilities at Bayshore Science, a compendium of real-life cases, which has been adopted by universities nationwide.

As an invited speaker at organizations, she provides entertaining, informative and interactive presentations on subjects ranging from politics to business, and has appeared as a paid expert witness on human resource matters.

A native Californian, Ms. Brown-Walker shares her life with her husband and step-daughters, assorted horses, dogs and cats. She breeds and shows Peruvian Paso horses, enjoys camping with her horses, fly fishing, mystery novels, UCLA football, Jimmy Buffett and travel. A breast cancer survivor, Brown-Walker has participated in several Breast Cancer 3-Day Walks, a 60-mile, 3-day march to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer, as well as participating in local fundraising efforts for breast cancer.
