Debra Wesselmann

Debra Wesselmann, MS, LIMHP has had a passion for transforming the lives of adults, children, and families affected by attachment trauma since 1989. In 1995, she discovered the profound healing power of EMDR therapy. This discovery reshaped her clinical approach, leading her to integrate EMDR into her work and help countless individuals on their path to recovery.

In 2008, Debra co-founded The Attachment and Trauma Center of Nebraska, where she continues her hands-on clinical practice while also training the next generation of EMDR practitioners. As a faculty member of the EMDR Institute, founded by Francine Shapiro, Ph.D., she played a key role in developing a child-focused curriculum for EMDR basic training.

A recognized thought leader in the field, Debra has published research and authored or co-authored several books, articles, and chapters—including two chapters co-written with EMDR pioneer Francine Shapiro. She serves on the board of the Journal for EMDR Practice and Research and provides trainings, keynotes, and presentations for organizations worldwide.
