Nick Ryan

An award-winning journalist and author, Nick started his literary interests by reading science-fiction and fantasy novels. However, after traveling extensively in the Middle East in the run-up to the first Gulf War, including living in Kuwait just before its invasion, he was spurred to turn his hand to non-fiction.

Since then, his work as a features and reportage writer has appeared in newspapers and magazines around the world. Nick was creative producer of the BBC1 drama, 'England Expects' and has been a consultant for a number of other dramatic and documentary projects. Stieg Larsson, author of 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' series, assisted Nick with some of the elements of the research for his book 'HOMELAND'.

'HOMELAND' received many plaudits. The Times Literary Supplement called it "reportage of the most illuminating kind", while the Daily Mail said it was "a terrifying book that provokes nightmares, and makes me fear for the future of our civilised society", listing it as Critic's Choice.

Today Nick works as a strategic communications advisor for several organisations in the anti-corruption and anti-extremism field, while continuing his journalism.
