Ward Blanton

Ward Blanton (PhD, Yale University) is a Christian philosopher and cultural historian. His work explores the intimate and often unacknowledged ties between contemporary events and deep cultural myth—so deep it usefully doubles as explanatory sociological theory. A real believer in the idea that the highest value of research is to generate unexpected insights, he has written about the surprisingly similar function of biblical traditions in groups of the far left and right. In addition to coaching and mentoring research agendas, he is currently working with interdisciplinary and interinstitutional groups to understand how political theologies shape contemporary dynamics of national security, technological visions of higher mind, and health (spoiler: they’re all connected).

These issues are and should be hubs of innovation, and everyone in any sphere who believes that our future hangs on whether we think a little outside the old boxes is encouraged to be in touch.
