Warwick Fox

I am a philosopher (Emeritus Prof of Philosophy, University of Central Lancashire, UK), author, and (in the background, alas, always in the background) low-key singer-songwriter-guitar-player. I published widely on environmental philosophy (especially "deep ecology") in my earlier work and have since moved on to argue that we need to develop a truly "General Ethics" (my term, believe it or not), by which I mean "a single, integrated approach to ethics that encompasses the realms of interhuman ethics, the ethics of the natural environment, and the ethics of the human-constructed, or built, environment". In particular, I am the originator of the "theory of responsive cohesion" approach to General Ethics. My books include: "Toward a Transpersonal Ecology: Developing new foundations for environmentalism"; "Ethics and the Built Environment" (ed.); "A Theory of General Ethics: Human relationships, nature, and the built environment"; and a rather different kind of book: "On Beautiful Days Such as This: A philosopher's search for love, work, place, meaning, and suchlike".
