Harriet Peck Taylor

Harriet Peck Taylor has spent much of her life observing and being inspired by the animals you see in her books. She an award-winning author, illustrator, and artist. She was listed by Banks Street College: Best Children’s Books of the Year for Coyote and the Laughing Butterflies, 1993, Brother Wolf: A Seneca Tale, 1996, and Secrets of the Stone, 2000. Two Days in May received the 1999 Americas Award and the 1999 Parent’s Choice Award. Coyote Places the Stars and Brother Wolf were both finalists for the Colorado Book Awards. Her fine art has been published on prints, gift ware, and greeting cards. In her free time, she works on behalf of various environmental organizations and spends as much time as possible in the wilderness camping and hiking. A critic once said, "Ultimately, her book pays tribute to a beautiful world."
