Rita Baron-Faust

I have been a voracious reader since I was a little girl. One of my most vivid memories is being hauled home from the Queens Public Library by my father. I didn't want to leave without my armful of books, far more than the library permitted. It took some stern words for me to finally hand over that pile of books!

My fascination with medicine started early, too. I read every Cherry Ames and Sue Barton book I could get my hands on and, even as a young reader, devoured classics like "The Cry and the Covenant" and "Not As a Stranger."

I've been fortunate to be able to combine my passion for writing with my passion for medicine as a journalist in every medium from wire service to web.

But best of all, when I speak at patient events, countless women tell me how much they have been helped by my books, especially "The Autoimmune Connection." It makes everything worthwhile, since I am an autoimmune patient myself.

To all my readers: Thank you!
