Lars Bo Kaspersen

Lars Bo Kaspersen is currently Professor in Politics, History, and Sociology at Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy, at Copenhagen Business School. He is the author and editor of several publications. He has been a visiting scholar at various universities such as Yale University, Stanford University and Birkbeck College, London. Kaspersen holds a PhD from the Department of Political Science, Aarhus University.

Kaspersen’s research profile is prolific. He has done research on state formation processes, globalization, the Nordic welfare states, civil society, warfare and social change, and several other social theoretical issues. In recent years, he has been interested in the works of Norbert Elias including relational theory in general.

Kaspersen is co-director of the research project civil society in the shadow of the state (CISTAS), which is funded by the Carlsberg Foundation and the Danish Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
