James Ron

James Ron earned a PhD in sociology from UC Berkeley and a BA in political science from Stanford University. He grew up in Jerusalem, where he worked for the Associated Press and then for Human Rights Watch. Over the course of his career, James has consulted for human rights groups, humanitarian agencies, and medical charities in over a dozen countries. James taught for over two decades at leading research universities in the US, Mexico, and Canada and has published widely in scholarly journals. His opinion pieces have appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, and many other newspapers.
