Matthew Christian

Matthew Christian is a passionate animal lover, lifelong cat owner and writer living in London, with a deep appreciation for the bond between humans and animals.

With a lifetime of experience caring for cats and understanding of their many needs, personality traits and fascinating abilities, he now shares his insights about feline behaviour, aiming to educate and inspire others to embrace the joys of cat companionship.

Growing up in Cheshire in the North West of England, Matthew was surrounded by all types of pets and farm animals including cats, dogs, hamsters, mice, chickens, rabbits, cows, guinea pigs and both coldwater and tropical fish, enjoying from an early age all of the fascinating and unique quirks and personalities that each animal brings into a home. He believes that the creatures we share our lives with are not just pets, but part of the family, deserving love, respect and understanding.

Matthew's writing reflects his love for animals and his desire to promote responsible pet ownership, animal welfare and education as well as the value that pet ownership brings.

When he's not writing or out enjoying the local parks and countryside, Matthew can be found curled up with his two current cats, Badger The Marble Bengal Cat and Archie The Bengal Maine Coon MegaMoggie, next to the aquarium home of Larry The Angel Fish (he's got the whole place to himself so he's Happy as Larry) while watching Netflix or Taylor Swift videos.
