Dr. Mellott is President of Christian Theological Seminary (CTS), where is is Professor of Theological Formation. He has taught in both Roman Catholic and Protestant seminaries. He has taught in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degree programs. His courses include pastoral ministry, queer theology, sacramentology, worship, Roman Catholicism, philosophy, spiritual formation, and strategic planning.
He is also a spiritual director and retreat director. He has led retreats throughout the United States and in central Europe.
Dr. Mellott was the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Lancaster Theological Seminary before moving to CTS. Prior to Lancaster, he was a residential faculty member and coordinator of worship at St. Mary’s Seminary & University in Baltimore, MD. Originally ordained a Roman Catholic priest in 1982, Dr. Mellott is now an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ. He lives in Indianapolis, Indiana with his husband.
