When I write a book, it has to do with something going on in my life at the time. For example,

BUYING A HOME WHEN YOU'RE SINGLE was the result of writing hundreds of articles for real estate sections of newspapers and realizing that nearly every article I wrote or read assumed the reader would be part of a couple, and the people I'd interviewed over the years proved that wasn't true, so I wanted to give them a book that both told how to purchase a home and special considerations they had to address as a single buyer.

PROMOTING YOUR BUSINESS WITH FREE (OR ALMOST) FREE PUBLICITY came from writing articles about small businesses and realizing many were looking for simple steps they could take to bring customers to their door. It didn't hurt that as a freelance writer, I'm always looking for ways to promote my business too!

I LOVE TO TELL THE STORY: FAVORITE BIBLE STORIES OF FAMOUS PEOPLE was my way of exploring how other people handle life's problems. I had kidney failure at the time and was waiting on the transplant list with no end in sight. Sharing stories with these people made my journey easier and I hope it will help you when you're going through a difficult time.

RAISING A CHILD WHO HAS A PHYSICAL DISABILITY Yup, I was doing it. My husband and I had two adorable daughters who were born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy which crippled their bodies and shortened their lives. We managed a parent support group under the auspices of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. It was a very practical group with local specialists as speakers and showed me that I wasn't the only one searching for practical answers on ways to make my children's lives the best they could be.
