Deborah Forrest, Ph.D. (1950) was born in East Tennessee to older parents. Her early years were shaped by many white-haired elderly relatives who were fond of sharing with her their words of wisdom gleaned from the life experiences they had in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. For 24 years, Deborah worked as a Registered Nurse and an International Biomedical Laser Plume Research expert. In 1995 she completed her doctoral degree in clinical health psychology and began working in the fields of aging, death and dying and spirituality.
In 2002 her ground-breaking book "Symphony of Spirits: Encounters with the Spiritual Dimensions of Alzheimer's" became an international best seller. Her second book "Touch the Spirit: Connecting to the Inner World of Dementia" published in 2013 moves beyond discussions about dementia of the Alzheimer's type to include stories of persons with dementias created by other medical conditions like Lewy body disease, strokes, Fronto-temporal Lobe dementia, chemo-brain, open-heart surgery induced dementia and various types of traumatic brain injuries. "Touch the Spirit" offers unique pathways to the creation of what many describe as wondrous connections to a person with dementia. Knowing how difficult the process of aging can be, especially when mixed with dementia, Deborah believes that "Touch the Spirit" offers family members, friends and caregivers' effective opportunities to connect to the person with a dementia condition, even as they seem to be lost or no longer there. Both books offer new messages of inspiration and hope.
In 2024 Deborah released her latest and by far the most impactful book, "The Cosmic River: How Living in the Flow Can Transform Your Life Beyond Your Wildest Imaginings". The flow is a stream of unseen plasma energy that surrounds all of us. It is everywhere. It possesses a form of intelligence that allows it to hear and respond to a person's words. So, be careful what you say! Words can have a ripple effect in the universe. They can change a person's life in unexpected ways. By setting one's intentions for a desired outcome, the flow's energy can be mobilized toward the delivery of that outcome. Care should be taken, though, when setting one's intentions for they do have consequences.
The flow actually resides within different dimensions. It is a force, a power that people do not see with their physical eyes. When individuals learn about its existence and begin to pay attention to its presence, they begin to see and feel its impact in their lives. When these individuals accept an invitation to step into the flow, they must be prepared to experience a new personal evolutionary process. That process will eventually take them into another dimension of reality - one that is far beyond a coincidence, synchronicity, or what some refer to as the "law of attraction". It can create a life for them that is beyond anything they could have ever dreamed possible!
Deborah shows readers how to step into the flow and transform their lives.
