Steve Charles MD

Steve Charles, M.D., is one of the history’s leading vitreoretinal surgeons. He has developed standard of care surgical techniques for operating on the retina as well as much of the technology and instrumentation used to complete procedures on the interior of the eye. His electrical and mechanical engineering skills enabled him to lead the design of the most popular retinal surgery platform in the world. Dr. Charles is the father of three accomplished daughters, and a licensed, multi engine jet pilot who lives and flies out of Memphis, TN, where he practices at the Charles Retina Institute.
