William Richard King

William Richard King retired in 2008 from the University of Pittsburgh with the university's most distinguished academic rank, "University Professor."

He is the author or editor of 17 academic books, many of which have multiple editions and translations, and over 325 scientific papers that appeared in the leading journals in Management Science and Information Systems. He has also written many op-eds and essays for various newspapers and magazines. After retiring, he published two autobiographical books.

He was a management consultant for many business firms and public agencies in the Americas, Europe and the Pacific Rim, was elected to the presidency of two international professional organizations and mentored well over 100 Phd graduates.

Among the most interesting of the many recognitions that he has received was a "King-is-a Liar" demonstration held in Red Square in Moscow after CIA analysts at the Brookings Institution revealed that for his master's thesis, Vladimir Putin had plagiarized significant portions of one of Bill's books.
